Our Chinese Green Tea
Our Chinese Green Tea is sourced from the large leaf variety which is important as the surface area of the leaves is essential for coming in contact with hot water, the more surface area the better extraction. Some Chinease Green Teas are nothing but the stalks where very little properties of the plant are found. Tea bags often are a mix of leaves and stalks crushed and many tea bags contain benzine (not exactly healthy).
Winning Perfomance specialize in sourcing the best ingredients and do not compromise on quality.
ANTI-OXIDANT & ANTI-CANCER PROPERTIES
Chinese Green Tea (CGT) has long been used to cleanse the kidneys and as an antioxidant but only recently have studies revealed that green tea protects against cancer, particularly breast and liver cancer. CGT appears to have more anti oxidant properties than any fruit or vegetable, even more than juices (consumer report November 1999). Antioxidants neutralise damaging free radicals, which are highly unstable molecules produced by the body’s normal metabolism from exposure to chemicals, metals, radiation etc. Lacking a vital part of their molecular structure, free radicals “oxidise” other molecules by snatching the missing part from them. This process damages the body’s cells, protein and fats & can cause a wide range of disease & aging if overloaded.
Antioxidants minimise oxidation, therefore neutralise the radicals. Green Tea is unusually rich in a potent class of antioxidants (polyphenols). It appears to be far stronger than any other antioxidant tested. Studies by the Journal of The National Cancer Institute indicate oesophagus cancer to be 57% less in men and 60% less in women when using Chinese Green Tea. Polyphenols also stop enzymes that produce cancer. Lab tests have shown protection against cancer of the breast, colon, oesophagus, liver, lungs, pancreas, skin and stomach. It appears the tea inhibits proliferation of new blood vessels which fuel the growth in tumours, disrupting several tumour promoting enzymes. It is said to kill or at least slow the growth of actual cancer cells.
Chinese Green Tea also shields DNA from oxidation damage (DNA has to be altered in the cell before fat deterioration to produce cancer when oxygen is depleted by more than 60%). Harvard University School and Bringham Hospital compared heart attack patients with healthy people and calculated that two cups of Green Tea per day decreased the percentage chance by 44%. Additional consumption produces a significant 4% increase in 24 hour energy expenditure which translates into plus minus 80 calories which will reduce fat, not muscle, by approximately 9 pounds or 4 Kg’s per annum. In short, it increases metabolic rate and fat oxidation. The potency of Chinese Green Tea is a result of the interaction between the caffeine, tea catchins and norepinephines, (a potent hormone metabolic stimulator).
Our kidneys are involved in several vital functions within the body. They help remove waste and excess fluids from the body. They help to filter the blood and control the body’s PH. They also play a role in balancing essential nutrients and blood pressure regulation. Kidney stone formation in the urinary tract, the kidney’s uterus, bladder and uretha has been known for centuries. Therefore I don’t feel its necessary our diets that are the problem but the quality of the liquids we are drinking.
In the past kidney stone formation was almost exclusively in the bladder whereas these days most stones form in the kidney and upper urinary tract. 10% of males and 3% of females get kidney stones. Eating foods that are high in alkaline and good clean water would probably reduce risk. Kidney stones are on the rise as a result of poor diet and a fast western lifestyle compounding the problem of heart disease, gall stones, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer -which today are the main disease areas.
Always remember that these stones are porous and will harbour bacteria. A large percentage of lower back pain is caused through this bacteria growth. Detoxing the intestine, the kidney and then the liver/gall bladder is the route to flushing stones. The most effective kidney method currently is drinking Chinese Green Tea. Almost 80% of all stones are composed of oxalate, uric acid accounts for 5% and 15% of stones are struvite stones.
Chinese have been using green tea for more than 4000 years successfully yet the western world insists on drugs and surgery to remove stones. The good news however, is that research has found that most stones are passed spontaneously which suggest that medical action is overstated. Cadmium and other metals are proving to be highly toxic to the kidneys therefore filtering your water is essential.
